Useful Idiocy or Insurrection-y?: China Tells US Academics Let’s Turn to the States for Our Climate Agenda if Trump Wins

Recalling Gore’s Trope about the Chinese Character for “Threat and Opportunity”

GAO sees this supplemental release in FOIA litigation with the U.S. State Department (yes, FOIA is a statutory obligation and therefore not something the feds can shrug  off in, e.g., the current circumstances).

State produced one document, which an American academic had sent to to the White House via John Podesta’s office, which was sent on to Podesta. In that document, the academic reflected on her exchanges with China’s Special Envoy for Climate Change, Liu Zhenmin, which she had permission to share but not publicize.

In very short, China is still taking the West for a ride on the “climate” game, and both its math and view of the US, including the unfolding debacle of bankrupting “climate” policy, is exceedingly realistic. And…

China’s Zhenmin sought the academics’ help executing an end-run if U.S. foreign policy if American voters call a halt to this and sweep these folks out of power, as occurred: “There was a comment, which I found striking, that US local governments should be “made aware” of the opportunity to engage in climate cooperation.” Podesta was intrigued, forwarding the summary to his highest ranking aides at State. Someone might check in on his post-election work.
