Is the Biden LNG-export “‘Pause’ to Study” a Cheap Fake?

Sources say January 2024 “pause” to study the impacts of LNG exports is based on a fib; that the macroeconomic study was in fact already produced, in 2023, but gave ‘wrong’ answer and was buried

Today, Government Accountability & Oversight (GAO) filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the Department of Energy, over DoE’s failure to provide even the required “determination” on GAO’s request for expedited processing of a FOIA request of tremendous and timely—it is fair to say urgent—public interest.

The request seeks certain documents that GAO is reliably informed exist, and show…  as the complaint notes:

If that is in fact the case, the document’s mere existence is damning. GAO understands that the periodic study was produced in 2023, transmitted around the Department, and then disappeared. The public has a right to know.

As some media types are fond of saying, this will be one to watch.
