Neal Cornett is an attorney for Government Accountability & Oversight. Mr. Cornett is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law, where he was a legal clinic student, member of the Trial Advocacy Board, and founder of the Appalachian Law Caucus.
Prior to joining GAO, Mr. Cornett worked for Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin in the Department for Local Government as a staff attorney and legislative liaison. Among his accomplishments were the successful passage of the Kentucky Coal Field Endowment Fund and the Kentucky Mountain Regional Recreation Authority. Before joining the Bevin Administration, Mr. Cornett served as deputy clerk of the Kentucky Senate and staff attorney for Senate President Robert Stivers.
In addition to his work at GAO, Mr. Cornett is a member of the succession planning committee for his hometown bank, an avid traveler, and a classic country music enthusiast.
